It has been the case in previous years that people may ask the question, "Where is Dunleer?" but not any more. This is a quiet country town just 1 mile off the M1 motorway and is only 30 minutes drive from Dublin Airport .
The town has shops, bank, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants, a beauty clinic, pharmacies etc. to date. However, the real interest lies in the fact that there is a strong possibility that the train station may reopen in the coming years thus giving people access to the main Dublin to Belfast line. How ever there the bus service in Dunleer is second to none.
Also, a sewerage system is in place for over 2,000 houses and will have mains water linked into the Dundalk system shortly. Planning is being sought for a 35-unit shopping centre between the town and the M1 junction.
Currently, there is large employers in the area including Glen Dimplex and St. John of Gods training centre for nurses and new businesses are springing up all the time.
